Back to Mexico

We returned to Mexico on New Years Eve and were welcomed by the gorgeous foliage, some new plantings at the property and of course the ever present sunshine.

House mutts on duty

Over the late fall we were fortunate enough to receive some features across the internet and gain new friends and followers of our @casa.madre.mx instagram channel. We are blown away by the interest and messages we are receiving from around the world/internet. Thank you to everyone for their support.

We are working on our routine with the kids, the dogs, our work and of course the maintenance of the property. With our return to Mexico being delayed by two months we have come back to more maintenance and upkeep than previous seasons. Our town had a hurricane in early October and the harshness of all of nature’s elements really presented itself upon our arrival.

The casitas are all getting a new coat of paint, the gardens getting a much needed facelift, the lawn some extra nutrients and if all goes to plan our family home will be getting some new pieces designed just for us to make the living spaces more inviting, personal and curated to our likings.

I have said that year one, 2021 was really about building this house and seeing what we could accomplish. 2022 was about finally discovering/ living in the space and hosting family and friends. 2023 is when we can begin to curate.

Looking forward to sharing more of this and design inspo in future notas.

xx Lydia
